Thank you. Shifting funds from inciting wars to protecting earth and investing in our country, makes even more sense now.

Even military officials have declared that climate change is a national security emergency that could not harm the country but the country's military bases (which some need to be renamed cause why name them after enemies of the union?) could be in danger from extreme climate effects.

So that would be something significant to get into those amendments.

Absolutely . And yet a large number of citizens deny need. Even Germany said renewable the way to go

In commenting upon the institution of chattel slavery, Thomas Jefferson wrote that maintaining slavery was like holding “a wolf by the ear, and we can neither hold him, nor safely let him go.” The same analogy applies to our dependence on fossil fuels. Climate science is clear--we are going to endure rough transition no matter which option we choose. Far better to manage a transition of our choosing than to have a totally chaotic future thrust upon us. If that chosen future includes turning swords into plowshares, then all the better.

I could see the GOP using this as an excuse to put more resources/legislation towards oil and gas extraction/ production here in the US and destroying our chances of freeing ourselves from it in the near future.
