this country has been hypocritical with its so-called ideals since they were written. this country has never been about fairness and equality. White supremacy was the culture that this country was built on and it continues today. Government policies, enacted since the constitution was written, were the instruments to support and empower that culture, despite what the constitution said. The racial inequities, perpetuated by the racist structures that built them, persist and are on vivid and clear display throughout this country. We should not be surprised at all with the verdict today.

TY for the clear account of what it's like to live in a country peopled by immigrants, that discriminates against us in real and subtle ways that could limit our contributions.

The current politics appear as a last stand for the fading, white rule. Democracy is not based on white supremacy, but the "consent of the governed," that is, all of us. What makes America stand out is our commitment to the Constitution and each other. Making a "more perfect union" is the oath we take as citizens.

I am glad that you are here and you write and speak truth.

When Men & Women join the military services they swear to protect & defend the constitution and this country from all enemies foreign and domestic. Many give their lives in doing so.

The same oath is taken by members of the three branches of government when sworn into office.

Unfortunately the oath is meaningless to republicans as proven by their words and actions concerning the previous lying, racist, corrupt, traitor president. Republicans are self-serving COWARDS afraid to offend their racist diluted base. All they want is to hold onto power, a nice paycheck and all the perks that come with their elected position. Disgusting!

The only way to rid our government of this filth is to vote them out of office.
