I agree with you completely about your comments about Yamen however you did not mention any thing about Syria . Which the situation there as bad for the last 11 years . The Syrian government killed more than million people , destroyed cities and villages with the help of Iran & Russia and we were & still watching ( from Obama days till now ) we have American troops in the North East & South East of the country supporting PKK which is terrorist organization & helping them steel the Oil .

You're absolutely right, Mohamed: We have failed Syria tremendously. The only differentiator here is that I think intervention on Syria is far more complex than intervention on Yemen and Afghanistan. Unlike Yemen and Afghanistan, the US cannot simply change it's position and single-handedly stop atrocities, though I agree that we should have been, and should still be, far more committed to doing our part to protect the Syrian people. Appreciate your note.

I completely agree with the disheartening comments you have made. Our priorities for justifying support for countries that perpetrate autocratic rule or support terrorists must end! I was a key note speaker at an international conference on emergency medicine in Saudia Arabia in 1993. I was standing in front of a Saudi hospital talking to the wife of the American hospital CEO. As she stepped off of the curb to cross the street I started to go with her. Immediately a hand grabbed my arm and gestured NO! I was under surveillance the entire time. One night we visited a commercial park. Valuable items were lying out in the open on tables and blankets. I asked how those items could be protected? They pointed to an adjacent square and said, “That is chop chop square. The first thing to go is the hands and then...”

The indescribable violence against Khashoggi should convince all of us who we are dealing with and befriending. When will enough be enough?! We have exceeded the tolerance that should be allowed. I was never so glad to leave a place in my life. Values? Values!
