A Black woman with impeccable credentials was nominated to the Supreme Court — and that institution’s gatekeepers nearly flipped the table. Sound familiar?
It's pretty clear that these hecklers don't have the vaguest understanding of what Critical Race Theory is, since they demonstrated and illustrated many of the theory's concepts through their shameful behavior. They appeared to be no more than bullies who used this hearing to further their own agendas. It's unforgivable how little they respect they have for the very government and process in which they've been elected to participate. Ultimately they revealed their fear of "the other". Ms. Brown Jackson may have been just too scary, smart, Black and female for them.
Abdul, well said. As has been said elsewhere, these Republican senators could care less about Judge Jackson. Just like a high school sports star gets video to sell him/herself to college coaches, these guys were just getting their video down for 2024. The most effective form of abhorrence will be pressing for voter registration and then getting out the vote.
