Biden has wanted to be president for his entire career. I voted for him. It’s not enough that he’s “not Trump.” He wanted to lead. Well, here we are, sir. Lead!

I don't have the political knowledge nor the debate background to make substantive comments on Biden's current situation. I do know that it is increasingly difficult to defend my vigorous posts about how "things will change" when I am challenged by Trump supporters on my FB posts. I shouldn't have to struggle to find positive counter-arguments and yet that seems to be where I find myself. Too many gaffs, too many early announcements that don't pan out, too many feet in one mouth.

People who consider themselves to be progressives have, in my judgment, one option at this moment at the edge of the political abyss: publicly and uninhibitedly support our President. If we successfully make it past next year's election, then Dems can start quarreling again.

I agree, Richard. Please don't take this as lacking support. I think he's got a very hard job and I'll be ready to vote for him again in 2024. That said, I do think it's important to make sure that our support isn't unthinking. You can support someone and still critique where you think they could/should do better.
