Health care for profit isn't going to ever be Cadillac health insurance. And that health insurance is tied to employment is another terrible idea. For a while I was self-employed and could only get catastrophic coverage with a $5000 deductible. It's incredible that as a society we have been sold a bill of goods by the insurance industry which enriches the top management and stock holders of those corporations, while we at the bottom get nickel and dimed sometimes to death. Medicare has a low overhead compared to commercial insurance and yet people still resist the idea of Medicare for all. They've been lied to by those who protect the insurance industry. Capitalism isn't a good for people's health.
We need to hold the health care system accountable. Vote with factual knowledge to help change the system!.... I think we all know what that means. vote!
I recently retired. Talking to coworkers who had worked at the same agency for longer, some 30+ years, I asked when they were going to retire? They couldn't retire because they were too young to qualify for Medicare. They were only working for the health insurance. Stuck in the system. Thank you for sharing this story.

So where is the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) in all this? Was that ever an option?
